Today was just some more Terraria, but it was actually a hugely productive day. The first half was me actually just doing more prep for hard mode, most of which was just grinding for a lava charm and the last angler accessories I needed. The rest was setting up an above-ground mushroom biome and trying to protect some areas from corruption. I eventually caved and looked at the map viewer to see where a lava charm chest was (there are two in the entire world) because I opened probably 30 crates and got everything besides the charm, but after that was the last angler accessory for the shellphone, so I was able to start hardmode. Then during the second half of the day I just got a ton of progress done. I got a lot of lucky drops, most of them 1-2% drops (some Ankh Shield components, a bunch of weapons; much much rarer are some biome keys (0.04% drop rate from every single enemy in a given biome) but those aren't important for now), but the HUGE drop was the Rod of Discord. This is a 0.25% drop in expert mode and it's one of the best items in the entire game and I've literally never had it before and I still feel really excited. I've already gone through all of the regular hardmode ore progression, I have frost armor now, and I'm technically ready for the mechanical bosses. I do wanna prep a little more, grind some biome mimics, idk maybe make some crimson and farm some ichor.
